Translated from Kükenthal 1915:
"Side and main branches spring regularly in threes to fives at each node, at an angle of 60°. The inclined distally directed polyps are 3 mm long, 1.2 mm thick and strongly widened distally. Eight relatively thick spindles up to 3 mm in length arranged in the longitudinal direction (?along septa), extend through the polyps. Occurring also are finely spined [thorny], rod-shaped, oblate [flattened at the poles] sclerites, about 0.2 mm long."
