Acanella arbuscula (Johnson, 1862)
Diagnostic description:
Colonies usually with four branches arising from each node on the main axis, branches bending upward; subsequent branches from nodes of main branches arise in threes or, towards tips, twos. Polyps crowded together, with two-three or more on the tips.
Distribution:
The type locality is off Madeira (North Atlantic Ocean).
Habitat:
This species is found mainly in the deep sea (from Deichmann (1936) "between 425-2875 meters")
