Welcome to Deep-Sea Octocorals Online

Deep-sea octocorals are octocorals that live in the ocean at depths greater than sunlight can penetrate, typically >150 meters, but as deep as 5000 meters. As this site evolves, we will provide classifications and taxonomic information, images, bibliographic resources, and other resources.

The site is in the very early stages of development, and so is thin on information just now. But over the next months it will grow, so please visit often. In the short term, you can also visit our lab research website, the Deep-Sea Corals Portal.
